Terms of Service
Last updated July 3, 2026
By using CatchMap you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Your account
You're responsible for activity under your account and for the accuracy of what you log. Don't impersonate others or misrepresent catch data you sell.
Your content
You own the catches, photos, and data you create. By listing a logbook for sale, you grant buyers a permanent license to view the catch data in it. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the app (store and display your content to you and, for listed logbooks, to buyers).
Aggregated data
You grant CatchMap a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the catch and conditions data you log to create aggregated, de-identified datasets and insights, and to publish, share, or sell those aggregates. Aggregated data never identifies you and never discloses your individual GPS coordinates or private spot notes. This right survives even if you later delete your account (your personal data is deleted; anonymous aggregates already derived are not reversible). See our Privacy Policy for details.
Marketplace & payments
- Logbook sales are peer-to-peer between anglers. Payments are handled by Stripe.
- Sellers keep 85% of each sale; CatchMap retains a 15% platform fee. Ambassadors (anglers who have referred 5 or more anglers who each logged at least 3 catches) keep 90% (10% fee).
- Referral rewards (free CatchMap Pro time, badges, the Ambassador rate) are earned when someone joins through your invite link and logs 3 catches. Rewards have no cash value, can't be transferred, and may be withdrawn for fake or duplicate accounts.
- Because buyers receive access to data instantly, sales are generally final. Contact support if something is misrepresented.
- You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings.
Acceptable use
Don't post unlawful, harassing, or infringing content; don't scrape or resell other users' data outside the marketplace; don't abuse messaging or meetups. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Fishing responsibly
CatchMap is an informational tool. You are responsible for knowing and following all local fishing laws, licenses, size and bag limits, and access rules. Meetup locations are visible to other users โ only share spots you're comfortable making public.
Disclaimer & liability
The app is provided โas is,โ without warranties. Conditions data (weather, tide, moon) comes from third parties and may be inaccurate. To the fullest extent allowed by law, CatchMap isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes & termination
We may update these terms (we'll change the date above) and may suspend or end accounts that violate them. You can delete your account anytime in Settings.
